New PowerHouse Gym coming to western Wayne County
Workout facility provides multiple fitness-enhancing options for residents near Northville
A 44,000-square-foot space built for muscle-building and fitness-enhancing is coming to Northville Township — and its amenities are nothing short of state-of-the-art.
The third Powerhouse Gym in the metropolitan-Detroit area — the nationwide fitness business already has sites in Novi and Ypsilanti — is set to open in the coming weeks at 20111 Haggerty Road.
The building was the former home of a Babies “R” Us.
Its location just south of Eight Mile Road means fitness buffs could, theoretically, eat dinner at the nearby Chick-fil-A, get a workout in at Powerhouse and then — depending on whether they burned more calories than they consumed (or vice versa) — visit the Kohl’s next door to purchase better-fitting clothes.
The facility will offer high-quality, cardiovascular and strength equipment; yoga, spin, Zumba, circuit training and MX4 classes; personal trainers, spa services, childcare services, a pool and a full-sized basketball court.
The business will be open 24/7, according to its website.
Powerhouse rates are — depending on the site — an up to $100 initiation fee and monthly fees of $20-$25.
