The northeast corner of the Sheldon-Ann Arbor roads intersection is about to become relevant again

One of the busiest intersections in Plymouth is on the verge of welcoming a vibrant new business to its long-barren northeast corner.

Scooter’s Coffee is coming soon to the corner of Ann Arbor and Sheldon roads, the now barren site of a former gas station that was demolished several years ago.

A sign stuck in the ground just south of the property reads: See you soon: Michigan’s 2.

The new business is a refreshing sign for Ann Arbor Road, which has recently suffered the closing of Baskin Robbins, the Trading Post and the Plymouth Roc, three longtime local businesses located on Ann Arbor Road west of Main Street.

Scooter’s was founded in 1998 in Bellevue, Nebraska, by Don and Linda Eckles, according to the company’s website. The Plymouth location will be the second in Michigan coming on the heels of one opening in Brighton.

The company’s keys to success, according to its website: “Find a great location and stay committed to high-quality drinks, speed of service, and a BIG smile,” its website states. “Scooter’s Coffee is fortunate to have over two decades of success due to its commitment to the original business principles and company core values.”

Scooter’s’ menu is jam-packed with hot drinks, iced drinks, blenders, smoothies and teas. Its food items include fresh baked goods and breakfast sandwiches, among other selections.

Per normal these days, Scooter’s is seeking employees. Those interested can visit ScootersCoffee.com to apply.
