Rally House Michigan’s grand opening aligns with football season
A woman walked into Canton Township’s newest sports apparel store Wednesday afternoon searching for an authentic Detroit Lions jersey bearing the last name of her new favorite player: rookie Aidan Hutchinson.
Within minutes, she was walking out of the recently opened Rally House Michigan site at 47220 Michigan Ave. with her Honolulu blue No. 97 jersey in a bag and a smile on her face.
Lions-wise, the store also offered D’Andre Swift (32) and Jared Goff (16) jerseys; however, more player jerseys are available on the franchise’s website.
Topping the list (as of Sept. 1) was Russell Wilson, followed by: Josh Allen, Davante Adams, Kenny Pickett, Tom Brady, Mac Jones, Cooper Kupp, Just Herbert, Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow.
The new Rally House location — just a long Goff touchdown pass east of Kohl’s — is one of three the franchise has opened in metropolitan Detroit this summer, joining brick-and-mortar spaces in Allen Park and Woodhaven.
Rally House Michigan now has 11 locations in southeast Michigan, including two in Novi and one in Livonia.
All three sites will celebrate grand opening sales Sept. 9 and 10, with the first 100 customers on those days winning doorbuster prizes up to $500.
While the Lions were the marquee team featured once visitors enter the Michigan Ave. location, all of Detroit’s professional teams were represented with sprawling displays of merchandise.
One of the most-impressive features of the store was its availability of collegiate-sports apparel — not just Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, but even Division II and smaller schools like Oakland University, Saginaw Valley State University and Wayne State University.
The franchise is known for its vast selection of officially licensed apparel, gear, gifts and other merchandise.
Among the most-unique items found in the store are lawn and garden decorations, drinking accessories and books for most of the main college and pro teams titled: “100 Things (name of team here) Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die”.
Speaking of best-selling NFL jerseys, Hutchinson has not yet cracked the list of top-10 NFL jerseys for 2022, according to si.com
